Jakarta, August 24 2023 – Phoenix Bar proudly announces the remarkable victory of its talented bartender, Vikram Hakam, in the prestigious Barnation FHI (Food and Hotel Indonesia) 2023 competition held at JIExpo Kemayoran on July 25-28, 2023.
Outshining 55 competitors, Vikram secured first place in this competition, making his name a standout in the bar scene in Indonesia.
His impressive achievement is a testament to his innovation, creativity, and dedication to mixology, establishing him as a new icon in the industry.
Barnation FHI itself is no ordinary competition. Participating bartenders are challenged to create unique cocktails that portray flavors and embrace their cultural roots.
Vikram succeeded in presenting a cocktail creation that represented the culture of his hometown, Malang and Surabaya, with the meaningful name “It’s My Family.”
His crafted cocktail captured the judges and the audience with its complex flavors and deep meanings.
“The creative process I went through was truly time-consuming and effort-intensive. Collaborating with my bar team at Phoenix was the key to bringing this creation to life,” Vikram explained when asked about the creative process behind his cocktail.
He also acknowledged the exceptional support provided by the Phoenix Gastro Bar team.
“Every element within the Phoenix Gastro Bar team played a crucial role in this journey. From the bar to operations, the kitchen and procurement all came together to support my preparation for the FHI 2023 competition,” Vikram expressed.

Jakarta, August 24 2023 — Phoenix Gastro Bar enthusiastically introduces an innovative event series called “Bar Take Over.” This event offers a range of captivating concepts about cocktails, encompassing diverse flavors and taste preferences.
Bar Take Over features local bartenders in the “Local Heroes” segment, where the showcased bartenders come from both Indonesia and internationally to provide a comprehensive understanding of cocktail culture, flavor variations, and the unique tastes of different cocktail types to visitors.
“We were inspired to organize the ‘Bar Take Over’ event out of our desire to contribute to the bar industry in Indonesia. We aim to create meaningful and entertaining experiences while introducing Phoenix Gastro Bar to a wider audience,” explained Don Chino, Executive Chef of Phoenix Gastro Bar.
One of the standout menu items from Bar Take Over is “Ronde Ronde” by Slamet Haryadi. Slamet Haryadi himself is the Global Winner of the Herno Gin Cocktail Awards and Head Mixologist of Secret Society Hong Kong.
Ronde Ronde successfully combines the flavors of “wedang jahe” (ginger-infused drink) and ginger balls with alcoholic beverages, creating a unique and complex taste experience.
In the future, Phoenix, as the event organizer, plans to bring in more accomplished bartenders to introduce cocktail culture in Indonesia.
“We are very excited about the development of this event. We intend to involve renowned bartenders locally and internationally in upcoming events to enhance the diversity of flavors and skills showcased,” Don Chino said.

Jakarta, 17 August 2023 – Ivan Gunawan, a renowned Indonesian designer, announced his collaboration with HW Group in creating unique uniforms for hosts and employees at HW Group outlets.
This collaboration was first introduced during the celebration of the first anniversary of Atlas Beach Club and Atlas Super Club, where Ivan Gunawan designed unique uniforms for the staff of the world’s largest beach club.
These uniforms not only serve practical purposes as work attire but also bring a unique style and vibe in line with the characteristics of each outlet. As known, HW Group owns ten brands with distinct features.
For instance, for Atlas Beach Club and Atlas Super Club, Ivan Gunawan presented a concept of clothing that focuses not only on entertainment and nightlife aspects but also supports wearability and mobility.
“I am grateful to HW Group for their support all this time. It’s not just about the services and creations I’ve made, but also the support over two years in beauty pageant events such as Miss Mega Star and Miss Grand International,” Ivan Gunawan shared during an interview at Phoenix Gastrobar PIK on Thursday (8/17). “This demonstrates a strong commitment from both of us to establish a successful and sustainable working relationship,” he continued.
In this collaboration process, Ivan Gunawan created seven unique designs that were first unveiled at Atlas Beach Club and Atlas Super Club. He revealed that the design process for the launch took approximately two weeks. The designs were chosen based on comfortable materials that can be worn for an extended period.
“We used stretchable materials, so they can assist the employees in feeling comfortable and moving easily. They are perfect for a busy work environment.”
The uniform-making process took around two weeks, from the design phase to the launch. Despite needing direct fitting sessions, Ivan Gunawan’s team ensured the designs fit well. The chosen designs feature striking carnival color palettes, helping the employees and clubs stand out amidst thousands of visitors.
“We proudly welcome the collaboration with Ivan Gunawan in creating clothing for hosts and employees at HW Group outlets. Bali, 15 August 2023 – After successfully launching in Jakarta last June, HSS Series 3 kicks off its series of matches in its first city, Bali, on September 10th at the Atlas Super Club.
This event will be a stage for exciting and intense battles, especially with the ultimate showdown involving two prominent names, Jerinx and Uus.
Jerinx, renowned as a musician and activist, will directly face off against Uus, a stand-up comedian and actor of Indonesian nationality. This fight is expected to bring its unique thrill, especially since both have never experienced the sensation of fighting in the ring before.
“This is a new challenge for me. I never expected to go directly against Jerinx in my debut. I hope this fight will entertain and provide an unforgettable experience for everyone watching,” explains Uus.
On the other hand, Jerinx acknowledges that the opportunity provided by HSS is something he wouldn’t miss.
“During the pandemic, I was imprisoned twice, one of the most challenging moments of my life. That’s why I feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity provided by HSS. Jakarta, 30 July 2023 – Alongside July, HW Group, through its CSR program HW Cares, once again demonstrates its strong determination and commitment to impact and promote community empowerment around its outlets positively.
A series of diverse activities have been initiated and successfully carried out in several locations, including HW Dragon Bar QBIG BSD on Saturday (22/7), HW Dragon Bekasi on Sunday (23/7), Helen’s Epicentrum South Jakarta on Saturday (29/7), and Helen’s Gading Serpong on Sunday (30/7).
Through this program, HW Cares pays serious attention to preserving local Indonesian arts and culture. Art and cultural performances take center stage in this event, showcasing three different types of traditional dances from each city.
For instance, at HW Dragon Bar QBIG BSD, dances like Bentang Banten, Bajidor Kahot, and Jaipong, depicting the beauty and cultural diversity of Banten, were presented to the HW Cares participants.
Similarly, at QBIG, HW Cares at HW Dragon Bar Bekasi also featured the Ronggeng Menor dance, Mask Dance, and Betawi Pencak Silat (martial arts).
Meanwhile, at Helen’s Epicentrum South Jakarta, the showcased dances included Palang Pintu Betawi and Gajak Gijik and a Pencak Silat performance featuring the Ondel-ondel dance.
And at Helen’s Gading Serpong, an Art and Culture showcase was also held, featuring three types of dances and one traditional Banten Pencak Silat performance. The dances presented included Tarian Bentang Banten, Tarian Zapin, and Banten Pencak Silat, complete with the unique Banten Silat dance.
